Chocolate Yogurt Raspberry filled birthday cake


So, Wouter (the other author of Inomnom aka my boyfriend) celebrated his birthday this week, and birthday means -yes, indeed- another cake. I’ve tried to make it not to girly, do not know if that worked out but he liked it!
I found this recipe, I had to try it but it didn’t worked out as I wanted to. Still need some more practice, but here is the recipe.

Marrowfat peas hummus



My mother has a vegetable garden, and every year she brings me freshly harvested zucchinis, potatoes, multiple herbs, all kinds of berries (rasp/red/Japanese wine/straw), pumpkins (in the near future) peas and more.

This summer she came with marrowfat peas, she gave me the idea to make hummus of the peas instead of making it with chickpeas. Actually you can make hummus out of all kinds of peas accept you do not call it hummus any more. It is delicious to eat it with flatbread, vegetables, with falafel, tabouleh, as a dipping sauce or whatever you like.

Pronto Pronto in Utrecht

And it was sunday again! Our brain in stand-by/vacation-mode and the relaxation was on. So guess what we did for dinner? You guessed it, a visit to a restaurant in Utrecht =D After a nice walk through the old centre and a few drinks at a terrace, we went to Pronto Pronto on de Neude. A small, informal restaurant that has been there for over 5 years, but never ever managed to get any attention from me and Kina. Well, I didn't even know it was there! I wish I had knew it before though...

Strawbery filled chocolate biscuit birthday cake


On July 28th our (best) friend Jennifer celebrated her 24th birthday. She didn't asked anything specific for her birthday but I couldn't go there empty handed, so... I baked her a cake. Not the usual, but some hard-labour-glittery-good-looking-one. After some research on the internet -and there is much cake info out there- I found a good recipe. It turned out to be a chocolate biscuit which I filled up with strawberrymousse and decorated with green fondant and red marzipan roses, and as a 'icing on the cake' (that fits well in the context): silver and gold sparkles.

Yum Saap and a little of LE:EN

Today was rainy, we planned on doing nothing today and just sit in our sweatpants and shirt all day long. We got up at 9-ish and started our exiting day. At 6.30pm we feld so depressed that cooking was out of the option. Hell, we didn't even wanted food delivered out our home! So we got up, turned of the ps3, got dressed and started walking towards Yum Saap at the Twijnstraat in Utrecht.
